My Approach to Nutrition:

With over 13 years of experience as a registered dietitian, I believe that nutrition is not black and white, and people often require a unique approach to their nutrition. Many factors could affect someone’s nutrition, including their mental health. With experience working in mental health settings, I am a strong advocate for mental health. I take a non-diet approach when making recommendations, and I believe that all foods can fit into a healthy diet.

My journey to becoming a certified intuitive eating counsellor changed my career path. This certification enriched my knowledge and ignited my passion to challenge and dismantle diet culture. I approach nutrition with gentleness and understanding, often discussing with clients how we can incorporate foods rather than restrict them to meet their nutrition goals. I am excited to share this passion and approach with you.

Motivational interviewing is also a passion of mine, and I incorporate motivational interviewing techniques when meeting with clients to help them meet their goals. This involves asking open-ended questions, listening actively, and providing affirmations and reflections to guide clients toward their desired changes. It’s essential to meet people where they are at with their knowledge and ability to make change.
