individual nutrition counselling

I offer personalized one-on-one nutrition counselling for busy women who want to improve their relationship with food and their bodies. You will receive support and guidance to implement nutrition changes.

Our sessions are a secure and judgment-free space, filled with compassion. I’m committed to guiding you toward sustainable changes, not quick fixes. I aim to provide a comprehensive and empathetic understanding of your unique journey. If beneficial, Intuitive Eating principles may be used throughout the sessions.

Embarking on this transformative journey is a significant step, and I’m here to provide unwavering support and accountability at every turn. My goal is to help you find a sense of relief from the stress around food. Remember, you don’t have to face this alone.

FAQ

I am currently meeting with clients virtually. Many clients find the flexibility of meeting virtually to be a great advantage. It saves time and allows for a more relaxed setting, reducing any potential anxiety.

I use a platform called Practice Better for scheduling, billing, video sessions and session reminders. This software is HIPPA, PIPEDA and GDPR compliant.

Once you decide to work together, you will receive an invitation to join Practice Betters’ Client Portal. As per my cancellation policy, I require a credit card on file to secure your nutrition session. Your credit card will not be charged until after your nutrition session, and you can use an alternate form of payment.

Our initial 1:1 virtual meeting is designed to delve into your health concerns, goals, and any other pertinent information. This session is crucial as it forms the foundation of our work together. I may inquire about your medical history, family, family medical history, medications, dietary habits, digestion and more. We’ll also explore any challenges you may be facing in your relationship with food. If you’ve recently undergone blood work, please bring the results along.

My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space. If you feel uncomfortable discussing something, please let me know.

We will create a customized plan that is tailored to your unique needs and goals. I will make a nutrition summary that outlines the goals we discussed, provides suggestions, and a suggestion for when we next meet.

It really depends on your specific nutritional needs. Some clients benefit from a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support from a dietitian. I am here to support you every step of the way.

In some situations, it may be beneficial to have a support person, such as a family member or a close friend, attend your nutrition sessions with you. This person can provide additional insights and support, enhancing the effectiveness of our sessions. I care deeply about your experience during our sessions and want you to feel comfortable, safe, and supported.

I provide direct billing for many insurance providers. If I cannot do direct billing, I will provide you with a receipt that you can send to your insurance provider.

Dietitian services are often covered by extended health care benefits (e.g. Blue Cross, Manlike, Sunlife, Canada Life). Please check with your insurance provider regarding your dietitian coverage.

Some extended health care plans require a referral from a medical physician or nurse practitioner. Please check with your insurance provider if you require a referral.

Yes, dietitian services can be claimed on your taxes.

I can also meet virtually with clients from Nunavut and the Territories.
